▪ Design and implement research activities on fruit crops

▪ Development of new and improved fruit varieties

▪ Development of improved propagation technologies for fruit crops

▪ Development of improved cultural management practices of fruit crops

▪ Development of technologies for urban agriculture and agroforestry

▪ Collection, evaluation and conservation of fruit germplasm

▪ Evaluation of different germplasm to release as variety

▪ Scientific report editing, compilation and presentation in review workshop and seminar

▪ Dissemination of technologies to the end users

▪ Visiting farmer’s, identification of problems regarding fruit production and convey possible solutions

▪ Training to the farmers, Agril. Extension officers, BADC/NGO’s personnel

▪ Planning for the budget/activities of GOB/International funding project

▪ Carryout some administrative tasks as assigned by authority

▪ Supervision on MS/PhD student of different Agricultural Universities

▪ Supervision of all divisional staffs and farm workers

▪ Procurement of equipment/research commodity
